I know who he plays in this but anyone know who he is in relation to the story?

hes the brother of mrs. isobel green (maggie gyllenhaal) and the uncle of norman, megsie and vincent, which makes him the father of cyril and celia.

I didn't realize he was in this movie until they introduced Lord Gray. I must say, given his talent, he's rather underutilized in this film. It's a same he played such a limited role.

I just saw this and it's hilarious they got both Ralph Fiennes and Ed Stoppard to do these tiny cameos. They're either Nanny fans or Emma Thompson fans or know someone.

Also Ewan McGregor. Given the number of other projects these actors were in, it does appear they're mutual friends of Emma.

Did Ewan McGregor play the father? He was very good looking. Usually when a big named performer plays tiny parts in TV or movies, it's called a cameo, and, apparently they don't get their names in the credits, either.

I guess Fiennes is the uncredited cameo.
