I personally liked the First One more...

I don't know exactly why, but for example I loved the snow bridal scene in the first movie much more and everthing...

For me, this story felt a bit rushed compared to the first. In this one, Nanny lost two moles the first night--and nobody noticed the changes!I thought this was a good film that just didn't reach its potential. In the first film, I loved how she would deny the magic even after it obviously happened. I loved when she would appear in the room with the dad, then say, "I DID knock."

I agree; I thought this second one, while good, was too straight-forward and rushed. Which, for me, made it less real and thus less magical. Because oddly enough, the most magical movies are those that make us believe in magic. Hence, it is the realism of them that makes us believe.

I am the movies I love! (^_^)

I agree Robert, especially as I think Colin Firth, Imelda Staunton, Kelly MacDonald and the kids were such a great fit, and this one, the whole cast was sorely lacking. C'mon, Maggie Gyllenhall's accent? BAH. I've also never thought much of her as an actress, she's much too stiff in everything I've ever seen.

I watched this one On Demand and I wouldn't give this more than 3/10, VERY disappointing and in need of the whole original cast!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who was disappointed in this movie. I really didn't like it at all. I felt it was way too predictable and just not as clever as the first one, nor did I feel it had as much heart. The whole bomb scene was just incredibly stupid and I just couldn't bring myself to care about any of the characters or their plights. If I can't care about the characters in a story, then it's a waste to me.

But, my 12-year-old daughter really liked it and I guess it was aimed more at kids than adults. I own the first one but have no plans to buy this one.

If she asks for it I will, otherwise I won't bother. If she wants something she asks for it, but so far she hasn't.

Loved the first one and this one is okay but not even close to how sweet and charming the first one was.

I'd disagree. The first one was fine, but this was dreadful. Absolutely nothing of the spark that made the first one fun to watch. I'm stunned by how many good actors they got to be in this film - presumably on strength of the first one, they signed up thinking it would be pretty good to be in. I was embarrassed for most of them by the end. Really really poor.

You read my mind.

I don't go for sequels, but I liked the second one better. I saw the first one, only becaus Colin Firth was in it.
