Moral compass

Apart from all its other flaws, this movie seemed to lose its moral compass at the end.

The morals seemed to be:
(1) "Don't Mess with Nature", and
(2) "If you Break Rule (1), Don't Try to Fix your Mistake".

But, almost at the end, it turned around and made the opposite point as Van Der Beck saved the world by Messing with Nature and Fixing the Mistake.

Then, at the very end, it switched back again as Van Der Beck announced that the weather machine would be destroyed, presumably so that no one else would be tempted to Mess with Nature or Fix their Mistakes.

Yeah, I thought, "Huh?" when he said they were going to destroy a machine that had just repaired a hole in the ozone. Couldn't they have at least patched things up over Australia first?

Should have left it on over the US for a few weeks.
