Wind energy and electric cars are a good match. Article below is about a Texas utility that actually offers FREE electricity overnight for charging electric cars, as a way to keep overnight wind energy from going to waste:

At zero cents per kilowatt-hour, the energy cost of driving on electricity becomes cost-equivalent to infinity miles-per-gallon. Or we could just call it 1,000,000 mpg.

Of course, this won't remain free. But it will always be far cheaper than gasoline.

Offpeak time electricity is always cheaper. here we got plans where during nights electricity is cheaper around 2 times. i make good use of it of doing many electricity intensive things overnight. if i would have an electric car to plug overnight, this would not be that expensive.
Actually it should be miles-per-kilowatt not mines-per-gallon actually.

I can charge my car for two cents per mile, using my utility's off-peak rate at night.

Even with gasoline as cheap as it is now, gas doesn't even come close to the low price of electricity.

This is why the Leaf and Tesla cars are still selling well.
