How much did they rewrite the story?

Does anyone know how much did they change from the book to the film?

Possible spoilers...

The most obvious change seems adding a brother to Adam Cassidy's character, called Aaron, played by Lucas Till. In the book the lead has no brother. I wonder how necessary this change was. Or they just needed another young male character to attract the young female audience...?

They added some characters. Adam's love interest is a different girl called Emma and he has a group of friends now. There's also an FBI agent too
