Cheesy, corny, cringey at best

Funny part: When General called the Taliban and said Americans are gonna fuck you up or taunting them in general then the response where a bunch of Taliban started cursing over the walkie talkie and I heard one distinct one that said "Fuck you American" or something to that latter which gave me a chuckle before the B-52 bombed the area.

Cheesy part: When they went on horseback to charge up to the rocket firing vehicles (forgot the name) and then he looked back at the general and nodded and then the general looked back and put his fist to his heart signally 'yes yes, you got the heart of the lion, you go man'.

Cringey part: When they had B-52 danger close support and got blown back while running back, the first thing the black ODA soldier did was check on the kid rather than his fellow brother in arms who was fucking right next to the kid. He cared more for the kid than his own teammate. Give me a break.

The cool part was the insertion behind enemy lines with the adrenaline pumping music then it's all blam blam talk talk blam blam yay we took the city and the warlords didn't fight each other.

Between this and Den of Thieves in theaters, DoT was way better. Waiting for another movie that can match or come close to Black Hawk Down.

I wanted to see it for Chris but I guess I shall pass.

It's just my opinion. I'm glad that sometimes my opinion can affect others choice but you may have a different opinion yourself if you watch it. :)

I would say you would enjoy Den of Thieves more if you did decide to watch both back to back imo.

reply

LetThemEatCake you've always been an idiot with awful taste in film but you're not going to watch a film because of one review you read online?
Do you have the ability to form your own opinions? What kind of a moron are you?

reply

I like the part where they have the "Wolverines!" montage.

Chris Hemsworth starred in the Red Drawn 2012 remake of that film. Instead of Russian invasion along with Cuban and Nicaraguan allies, it was North Korea. They were going to do China but caved cause they wanted to sell the movie in China if I recall.

reply

What? This is a different movie?

reply

Weren't you referring the wolverines montage from the Red Dawn movie?

If so, I was just saying coincidentally Chris also starred in the remake of that movie.

reply

Yes, I was joking.

The trailer looked like the same 1980s style film.

Yeah - Pentagon really screwed up when it funded this movie. The propaganda-driven narrative was over the top - you gotto be subtle when creating decent propaganda.

Having said that - is it not possible that the black dude came from the 'don't ask, don't tell' regiment and cared more about the boy than his mates because they had a better 'relationship'?

Speaking of pentagon funding films to fit its propaganda narrative - https://www.veteranstoday.com/2017/07/15/the-cia-and-pentagon-behind-over-800-major-movies-and-more-than-1000-tv-titles/

It was kind of okay. The action was pretty boring, I was expecting something similar to Black Hawk Down but this is far from that. Didn't get my blood pumping. I'd give it a 6/10
