Is Cold Fire aerosolized Hollywood 'fire gel'?

When I heard how it worked, and with the demonstration on the man's arm, the first thing I thought was that it was like what they use in Hollywood. When they were preparing to shoot the commercial, they talked about how cold the fire gel was on Sully's clothing, so I wonder if the father somehow made something very similar, but figured out how to put it in a spray can for easy home use.

That being said, I want to buy it, and I think it should be made into larger quantity cans for firefighters, it would sure save a lot of water. I'm intrigued that it's supposedly so safe (I can't remember if it was biodegradable and/or non-toxic, but I think it was at least one of those), I don't get how it can do so well with more complicated fires without chemicals. The only drawback is also one of its strengths, the ease-of-use of the small can for your home also means you have to get really close to the fire to put it out, much closer than with a traditional fire extinguisher.

I agree. I want this for my house. Its seems easier and quicker than an extinguisher

I had a thought...I hope the aerosol isn't the flammable kind...
