where was the thermometer feature in the Flippin' Sticks?

it must be in the hook (rounded) part, right? the point doesn't stay in the meat but for a moment and then comes out the other side, the only part that stays in long enough for an accurate reading is the rounded area....and even with that, you're only getting the temperature at the edge of the meat, that's not where you're supposed to test, you're supposed to test in the middle (and thickest part) of the meat to make sure it has reached a safe temp, so the whole thermometer part seems like a gimmick to me, sorry
