I wanted to like it ...

I knew it was a dumb comedy so I wasn't expecting it to be an Academy Award winner or anything. I've seen lots of dumb goofball comedies so I did have an expectation from the movie. That would be lots of corny jokes, crude humor, and inside jokes where the writers wink at the audience with clever stuff.

But it just fell flat and nothing really added up. It's almost like the writers just didn't care enough to make it goofy funny and decided that "strange" and "sad" was good enough.

For example, was Bucky retarded or just naive? The movie never really nails that down. Many of the jokes at his expense would have been somewhat funny if he was naive but they would be downright mean if he was retarded.

I mean, people kept telling him how good he made them feel about themselves because Bucky had such a small dick. Bucky would usually smile weakly, indicating that he knew that he was being insulted. But he never told anyone his feelings about it and never tried to do anything different.

And the logic of the movie didn't work, even compared to the screwy logic that is expected in a goofball comedy. For example, he won an award for Best Dick when his rise to fame was specifically due to him having the worst dick possible.

The movie was not very well constructed and seemed like nobody intelligent was writing or directing the movie.
