Great ice-acting!

Never seen the original, but this was ok, enjoyed it, but where did they find an actress who could skate so good? Must be a school for ice-dancing actresses out there, good on ya!

The actress who plays Lexi in the movie is Taylor Firth, an actual Figure Skater. She had never acted before in her life until doing Ice Castles.

Well fair play to her then, thought she was great, she done anything else do ya know or was that sort of a one off?

So far that's the only film she has done. She has said she would do acting again though in a heartbeat, if she was asked to. I'm an extra in the movie Ice Castles, and was very lucky to be on the same set as her. She's a very nice girl.

Hey, nice one, how long into the film are ya? I'll get there and have a look, i was in Robin Hood ( not the Costner one), and Judge Dredd as an extra, long days.

Unfortunately I haven't seen the film yet. I'm actually buying it today. I'm there for four different scenes. Three of which are in the rinks (Detroit, Minnesota, and Salt Lake City), and one is outside before the competition in "Detroit, Michigan", when they are interviewing Lexi.

mhiggins...thank you for the info. I thought she was doing her own skating as I didn't see any place they could have used a double. However, I had never heard of her so I wasn't sure. I wonder how much she has competed and how far she got or if she is still competing. Great job! She also has quite a bit of potential as an actress. I like her looks...very pretty and different. Hope to see her again in something, skating or not.

I also hope to see her in more acting roles as her competitive career is most likely over and she now is in the Disney on Ice shows(currently as Anna from Frozen).
