Finally! A new GOOD canadian show.

So refreshing to watch. The best show since Corner Gas. Good writing, story line, acting, music and setting. This will be my new favourite show to follow. Anyone else?

It seems good for a Canadian show, but I don't like the storyline. How long will a storyline like this last? Not for long if they want to keep this show on for a few seasons. It doesn't allow for development of other characters when the topic is of the main teens.

Hell, I'll give it a chance...it seems decent, I have to support the CBC...lol.

why...why?

reply

That's the question I asked myself too. I mean, the story line seems limited but I guess they have their entire marriage together as teens to explore. That doesn't make it a bad story line though.

I'm excited to keep watching too. Hopefully the quality doesn't drop in the next few episodes.

I loved it. I just saw the first episode and I laugh all the way. It's something fresh and new. A simple comedy.

I totally agree. And the second episode was just as good!

next year won't they have to call it 19 to life, or something like that..

it's a good show, but i too say how long can they keep it going.

18 to life is a reference to the prison sentence. It's a joke about marriage. It wouldn't change unless they were divorced.

reply

My only problem with this show so far is that they changed the actress for Ava from the one in the pilot. I don't understand why it was necessary except to please the guys in the audience.

reply

i havent seen the show, but do they actually love each other? or is it a dare? i dont get it.

she dares him to propose to her, but yes they do love each other

reply

they are and were each other's best friends all their lives......since living next door to one another...so yes, they really do love each other...

and i thought a prison sentence was 25 to life....lol

reply

IIRC, the character in the pilot was not named Ava.

The best show since Corner Gas

That bad eh? Thanks for the warning.

This show is a perfect idea. The cast is wonderful, the comedy is fresh, and the things they go through are normal, other than the fact that they live in the attic. ;)

I laugh every episode, and I really hope they will continue to make episodes. It would really sadden me if they canceled this show before it really had a chance.

The plot reminds me a lot of Dharma and Greg.

I'm only about 4 minutes into the pilot, though.

Peter Keleghan should have his own show - he was stellar in made in canada

I also was reminded of Dharma and Greg (daughter of hippie parents marries son of conservative parents).
I'm surprised that it is as good as it is, being on the CBC, and being a show centered around teenagers. The writers have created a set of interesting characters, and put the two leads into a unique situation. They shouldn't have problems coming up with storylines for quite a while.

I watched the show for the first time today and I instantly liked it. I'm not much of a sitcom guy so it's surprising I was able to dig it right away. I hope the show stays on for a good while.

too bad that the head actors of corner gas overact in their new show....

dan for mayor is so much better

This show is consistently amazing. Just thought I'd post that. I wish it had a larger following because it really deserves it.
