One Part That Is Confusing...SPOILER

First, I saw this on Netflix where it was rated almost 2 stars--I actually liked it though. I thought Linda was genuinely creepy as we got deeper into the movie. Here is what confuses me, though; there were a couple of times that characters saw Linda and made mention of her not being or looking like Sarah. One was the young guy who ended up leaving when Linda had the knife behind her back. The other was the reporter, who I figured only saw a picture of her and believed Linda when she said makeup did wonders. Was this a goof on the filmmakers part? If she ended up being the same person, meaning no one could see Linda, why would she appear to be a different person, in particular to the young guy who left when Sarah never responded to his calls while Linda apparently was next to him listening and watching (and he watching and talking to her)?

I think she just looks a little different than her picture. They had to put that in so we wouldnt suspect why nobody noticed it wasnt the lady on the book jacket. Personally I look way worse in my pics as I am not photogenic. I have been told several times I look better in person.
