Buu Saga Kai

I've not seen a topic made to discuss this so I thought I'd make one.

Are people aware of the situation on the Japanese release vs the international version? Originally the buu arc was created for international viewers clocking in at 69 episodes but somewhere down the line things changed at the show ending up airing on Japanese tv. However, the Japanese version has been edited further to clock in at approx 52 episodes.

Not only that but the Japanese version will receive several opening and closing songs when the international cut will on get the one.

I'm of two minds about this, I've been following the Buu Kai arc and I found a lot of the filler stuff still present in the show. Also, some of the pacing is way off! At times things happen at rapid speeds and other stuff goes at a snails pace... I'm not sure what to make of all this, the 69 episode version will most definately fix some of the pacing but then it'll add MORE filler stuff. Wasn't the point of kai to follow the manga more closely?

Hogan in highschool / Great Saiyaman saga I found actually very very enjoyable during Z. That's the part I was afraid would get chunked out.

But more importantly, I'm still waiting for the English version of the Great Saiyaman-Buu Kai sagas to happen at all. But that doesn't seem to be the case so far :(
