Boris was a lame villain

I mean all he wanted was his species survival. Yes he was a threat to earth but that was for the benefit of his own species. I mean is a lion evil because it eats a zebra? No way. It needs meat to survive. Same with the boglodites (well boglodites need more than meat). Boris just wanted his species to survive. Why did they have to make him so lame? It would be more interesting if boglodites devoured planets for their own amusement and not for survival. Then Boris would truly be evil.

reply

Evil is a point of view. I agree destroying planets for amusement would have been cool but his species surviving, it goes without saying was vital to him. His own race against time.

reply

What do you mean without saying vital to him?

reply

I mean all he wanted was his species survival.

I think that's being way too lenient. The guy murdered people he didn't have to, which didn't benefit the survival of his species. He was a killer and his species had no regard for life of any kind other than their own. If boglodites actually came to Earth and starting killing us so they could devour our planet I doubt you'd consider them innocent creatures only trying to survive. It's not one lion eating one zebra, it's a civilization who thrives by destroying other civilizations. And seemingly without mercy. That's bad enough for me.

I don't guess they're much different than the Bugs from the first film. At least as K described them. He said they "consume, infest, destroy and live off the death and destruction of other species".

"Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Would you like a cookie son?"

reply

Who did he murder that he didn't have to? And how could his species survive without devouring planets?

reply

Is the shark in Jaws evil just because it was hungry?

He's a villain because he's an antagonist to the protagonists, plain and simple.

He was a far better villain than Lara Flynn Boyle in the previous film!

reply

Why do you think he was more evil than Serleena? And my other question is how could he have insured his species's survival without devouring entire planets?

reply

Who was more evil? Boris the Animal or the shark from Jaws?

reply

Re lions, they don't make their prey species extinct. They make them (through evolution) stronger and faster and more alert.

If there was going to be an extinction of a species, it is better that it's Boris's. There's still a species going extinct, but only one, and then no more.

I agree with you. He could have assimilated with the other species. Because once they devoured all the species of all planets, they would go extinct in the future anyway. So you are right about that. Also who do you think was more evil? Boris the Animal or Serleena?

reply

I love Boris, so let's agree to disagree

reply

not so much lame as pure annoying

i dont think he was conceptualized properly by the film makers
