I love this show......I hope to see it next season. Where did you find out that it will be renewed?
shareWhatever the source, I doubt it's reliable. There has been no official announcement as of yet that the show has been renewed for a third season.
The Futon Critic is usually a good source, they update daily and change a show's status as soon as the networks announce their decisions. Although I checked other sources too, of course, and none report a renewal.
i hope its renewed - i love the show and of course jason lee -- the characters are so good on this show; i love memphis visited a few times, i am from new orleans and i have visited my fave singer elvis presley's mansion..i love that dwight gets to sing in every episode -- i am a southern girl and i think that ALL the actors do a very good job w/the accents, they don't go overboard like some movies/tv shows..ex tv show- The Closer, sorry but Kyra Sedwick's accent is so irritating and to think she's won a couple of emmys is just a joke .ex movie "The Big Easy" - love Dennis Quaid but his accent really upset me --he was talking the Cajun part of Louisiana, -- we DON'T talk like that, of course if you come from Vacherie, Thibadeaux(sp?), Pierre Port, Dondsaldville and even Shreveport My father-n-law is from Vacherie and has the deep Cajun accent bc he was born and raised there but moved to N.O., but then again he is/was Cajun (they have folks who talk french - like sha' baby, but seriously we don't talk like that in the French Quarter or any parts of New Orleans)..I often met visitors from all over the world during Mardi Gras and they thought I was from Boston, New England -- we don't have that ya'll slang...
neither does Memphis, TN -- I respect that this show doesn't have the actors talking like that..esp since i visited Memphis - I never came across ppl w/such slangs....I hope this show returns bc its different and i don't feel like i wasted an hour -- like i do some shows that have been on air for a few to several years...I think it would be a dumb ass idea to cancel this show w/such talent as Jason Lee, Alfre Woodward just to name a few...It has a lot of heart and soul to it and hope TNT does right by it!!! keeping my fingers crossed that it returns for a 3rd season, bad enough we only get 10 episodes each season anyway. I look forward every year that its coming back :) Memphis Beat Please Come Back !!!
Also crossing my fingers that the third season has more of the humor and fun that was in the first season. The second season started off kind of "meh" for me.
shareI have to agree with you. I loved the 1st season. The producers always do some tweaking on a 2nd season. Jason Lee's character was not quite so much of a "character". He lost a lot of weight. And maybe some was fine, but I thought he was looking as skinny as when he was 25!! (I thought his weight was just right in "Earl") But the other thing was that they made him cut his side burns and change his hair. They also left out some of the little humorous things that were more apparent in the 1st season. But, that said, I still love the show. I really do hope for more next summer.
