Plot thread I wondered about

Did they ever follow up on Kirk coming back to life with Khan's blood? I never saw the third movie but I assumed it would be followed up on. Wouldn't Khan's blood turn Kirk into a megalomaniac? After all, it was powerful enough to bring him back from the dead.
