There was some issue with her bed fitting in the bedroom. That distracted me. Did that sour the whole deal? Couldn't they put the dresser in the living room? I know it's kinda like you get what you want, but it turns out not so perfect. Any thoughts/clarification?

shareI think you're on the right track. My interpretation is that the end is saying she looks across the water and sees even bigger/better homes, right when she's told this one doesn't have enough room already. That coupled with the radio talking about the housing crisis and how it's going to get worse, means she's not done killing and upgrading yet.
