So does Common have game or is it just trick photography?

What do you think? He looked pretty skilled to me

BTW -- at 37 he may be a bit old for the typical NBA player

He has game since childhood so he says in recent interviews about it. He also said he did work with a couple NBA players and a NBA coac in order to fine tune for camera.

Not on film and not in appropriate basketball attire, he's still got game. Video proof via George Lopez's show May 18th 2010

Was he 37 in the movie?

He played on teams from elem to high school, but he got injured. Also his father (Lonnie Lynn Sr) played for the ABA.

Rest in Peace Keith "Guru" Elam (1966-2010)...you will be missed.

I thought there was enough full shots to show that he is decent--
better than Whoppi Goldberg in "Eddie" for instance...

Also, they said that Scott (Common) was in the NBA for a decade, so his age fits.

I couldn't help but notice the iffiness of the balls landing in the hoop in wide shots. It looked sort of CGI'd. I saw an effects company in the end credits (and, somewhat off-topic, my heart sinks when I see a visual effects company working on non-fantastic films).

Not to belabor the point, but I don't think so. The typical NBA player gets drafted when he's 21 and plays for about 7 years. Common however is 37 years old -- a bit long in the tooth for the NBA, unless you're a "hangeron" like Jordan was

I think he had/has the moves but showed his age. I still enjoyed the game footage, good fun.
