Jessica Lowndes wasn't very convincing as a pilot.

The authenticity just wasn't there. The feeling I got was that she wasn't a pilot just a model-turned-actress pretending to BE a pilot. Sorry, but if I'm not convinced about a character within the first five minutes of a film then it's a dead loss for me, I'm afraid.

RATING: *1/2 out of *****

She kind of lost me when we shouldn't quit smiling until the action picks up. Who wants to get on a plane with a pilot that can't quit flashing their pearly whites at every question directed at them? I don't think it really matters of the maturity of the characters either. She was asked direct questions about experiences and ratings and she consistently had a big old smile and snicker on her face...

And then her character was mad at the guy asking questions. If I'm putting my life in someone hands I definitely want to know their training and experience. Of course I would never ride with an inexperience pilot that hasn't had any experience flying across country or in bad conditions.

Ridiculous. She was smiling because she loves to fly and was excited. Was she supposed to deadpan?

She was annoyed about him asking questions because of the tone in his voice. He was asking in a critical manner as if he was suspecting her of lying about being a pilot in the first place. Try doing that to anyone who has worked their asses off to achieve a rating for something requiring that kind of skill and see what happens.

That kind of disbelieving critical accusatory grilling tends to make a person very uncomfortable.

I disagree. I think she did a great job of playing a pilot. she clearly explained to the others whenever she used pilot jargon language. she spoke and delivered a whole bunch of pilot talk over the radio without flinching. she repeatedly reassured the passengers that everything was going to be okay at the takeoff. when things started to go wrong, she tried to keep her composure when everyone around her started to panic. and she made it clear who was the boss of the plane.

Jessica Lowndes wouldn't be convincing as anything other than a whore.

If all "whores" resembled her I would be broke.
