Damn you, CBS, giving us Jeremy Northam in scrubs just to take it away?! Bastards...

And for a Tom Selleck police drama. CBS: It's still 1980 right?

Do you think we can start a campaign to stop this great show from being canceled?

How in the world can you test how a show would do when it gets canceled after one episode? I probably would have watched it if Celebrity Apprentice or Brothers and Sisters wasn't on.

You need to give the viewers at least a month to get used to a show instead of a week.

reply

The same way they cancle a show for everyone just cause alot of people in a group of 21-30 yr olds aren't watching it.

reply

As of today, 7 episodes have aired and if I'm not mistaken Brothers & Sisters and Celebrity Apprentice air on Sunday night. Miami Medical regular time slot is Friday night at 10.

reply

I was hoping cable would pick it up since there are filmed episodes not aired yet, altho I understand they will air them. That at least gives us some excellent TV to watch into the summer months. CBS really blew it on this one. I know so many people who started to watch it (and not for Jeremy Northam which is why I watched the first episode) because there was nothing else on and they stuck with it because it grew on them and the quality was there.

reply

I guess this just proves that not everything Jerry Bruckheimer touches turns to ratings gold.

He's produced many movies and shows that were flops, this isn't the only one.

I really did like this show, but it shouldn't have been on Fridays.

Yeah, just finished watching the Arm and A Leg episode and there's a scene at the end where she's dancing in a dress that clings to every curve. HOT doesn't begin to describe it, she is INCANDESCENT!

Damn you for cancelling this, CBS, haven't the suits there heard of giving a series room to grow? If these idiots had been in charge in the past some of the greatest and most popular TV series ever would have been never have made it past the first season.

reply

Same here. I was a big fan of Swingtown too ... that was another CBS casualty, wasn't it?

I grew to like MM, but Fridays is the programming graveyard as a rule. So it was probably a longshot anyways, just for being in that time slot.

I'm still sorry to see it got canned, though. It didn't deserve it. Good cast with a lot of potential. CBS is usually a little more patient than most broadcast networks, but it's been a bad season for new shows. The early axe fell all over the place this year.

reply

Im really mad. I enjoyed the show... Seems like all networks canceling new TV shows and not giving it a chance.

Son of Tucson gone also.

reply

Any time a new show airs on a Friday night is doomed from the start. Too bad. I liked Jeremy Northam and the eye candy looks of Elizabeth Harnois. Wow! what a great looking blond. Hope CBS reconsiders and gives Bruckheimer's drama a second chance with their successful "second season" run. If they stick it on Thursday after CSI it may do better. They can move The Mentalist anywhere and it'll do just fine. The other problem is that CBS has a great line-up of good shows and very few of them do poorly.

This blows hardcore. Everytime I find a show that I truely enjoy, some jerks decide to cancel it. How many times must I endure the heartbreak?

Firefly
Blood Ties
The Dresden Files
Defying Gravity
Miami Medical

just to name a few good shows cancelled because of some petty reason some network folk made up so that weird shows with unnavigatable plots and characters can flourish. Remember Pickit Fences? or any X-File episode? Now it's all about reality shows. Whatever... Find true love in 6 weeks or less! Win a Million Dollars by becoming a lying, manipulative SOB. Have a Dozen kids? Sure we will give you your own show, we'll pay for everything except the therapy those kids will need as adults because Mom & Dad had "issues". Where on Earth is this reality? Nowhere I know in life that's for sure.

So, give us good shows that leave us feeling a little better, a little less like the below poverty level majority that we are, then take it away and give us some pop reality horsepucky. Way to go network execs, way to go

I'm right there with you MNnorthstar...Especially with Dresden Files and Defying Gravity (I never got a chance to see any of Firefly or Blood Ties).

1st aformentioned:
* Dresden Files - I really got into this one from the beginning and wished they could have done 15 seasons....great plot and great roles and great actors and characters.

* Defying Gravity - I also got into this one from the beginning and so did my brother (we discuss movies and shows we both enjoy quite often). Leave us hanging at the end...what happens?????

2nd Miami Medical:

* Great show from the 1st episode and just built from there.
* Every show I've seen was a hit...just like any CSI I've seen...or House....or Bones....or Cold Case...or Without a Trace.
* Great Characters. In fact, could you ask for more about the charaters and the people playing them?

I cannot wait for this to come to DVD. FoxyRedFox, I'm right there with you on ready to buy this as soon as it comes out. I will buy this Season at Midnight on the night that it comes out (if I don't check Amazon 1st and get it from them...lol). There are many episodes that I want to watch again...especially "Golden Hour". I mean telling a story like that and getting others (especially investors) to understand why there is a "Trauma Unit". That was probably the one of the most powerful espisodes on television I've ever seen.

Why was this cancelled?????

I like this show very much.

I signed up at Amazon to be notified when it hits DVD. It probably won't happen because of so few episodes being aired.

They couldn't have given it a chance???!!!
