Question about some injured guy with a tattoo on his chest

Or it just looked like a tattoo. It said something like "do not..." - damn, I can't remember the word, english is not my native language, heal, save, whatever. I believe the word is similar to hesitate. Anywhoo

He was played by James Frain, and his chest tattoo said "Do Not Resuscitate", meaning he didn't want to be revived in a life or death situation (because he had advanced early-onset Alzheimer's Disease). Great episode, fantastic show.
