Why mother doesn't tell Antonio his dad wanna talk after he came out?

Why mother doesn't tell Antonio his dad wanna talk after he came out? Dad specifically asked her to relay to him that he wanted to speak to him alone in the office. Did she want him kicked out? Did she fear he might sway dad and fall back into his good graces? Why?

Perhaps she saw that the relationship at that point was really strained and she didn't want anyone to say anything and ruin any chance of mending. Maybe she got caught up in the sadness of seeing her little boy as a different man, a stranger.
