HILARIOUS SCENE in the hospital!!!

Am I the only one that caught up on the joke in the hospital when the whore is on top of dad, and she says some thing like "... gays are sprouting up everywhere like muschrooms.." and a gay nurse (and boy he was gorgeous mmmm) comes in and says "... you got 5 mins madam!". I only caught up on that on rewatch. I laughed so hard lol. Movies doesn't stop surprising me. I gave it 10/10. STUPENDOUS ACTING ALL ROUND!

I actually thought you were going to mention the mother's hilarious comment as she walks into her husband's hospital room and finds his mistress on top of him, "It smells like a whore's been in here!" as if the tramp was no longer present, mama apparently having spent years ignoring the existence of her husband's paramour.

I am surprised though this movie has the reputation of being a comedy as there are only a few comic scenes in it, it's more of a slice of life drama. Mama also has one of my favorite other comic bits in it though as one vicious acquaintance goes on and on about her own son's pending nuptials, obviously letting the matriarch know she's heard about Antonio's coming out without mentioning it, the humiliated Mama has enough and walks out of the shop - and then getting angry, finds her backbone and walks back in and letting one and all know of the trampy reputation of this woman's pending daughter-in-law!!

But perhaps the funniest to me is when Tomasso's gay friends come to visit the family although none of them are openly gay (even though some are quite screamingly gay!) to the family. The father seems to think this is a bunch of ladykiller pals of Tomasso's but the womenfolk read them clearly even if nobody says anything. However when Tomasso's sister has had enough of one of the guys blatantly lustful looks at her husband she slaps her hands right in front of his face, claiming to be out to kill a fly but giving him a look saying "I'm on to you buddy!"

At first, yes, but when he is at the pasticceria, he insists heavily on how girls had better hide because they'll (the boys) be let loose in the town and they're hungry for them (or something to that effect) I thought he was trying to persuade himself.
I'm sure he sensed something was amiss. You can see it in his eyes.
