I guess there IS hope

Chris Wood apparently isn't signed for Season 3 of Supergirl yet, and there's a rumor his character Mon-El isn't making it to that season one way or another.

Not only this but Twitter was buzzing yesterday saying a Spinoff was officially pitched last month (when 8x13 finished filming)

So, what I'm trying to say is...

Kai has been brought back as a means to help out the gang, so as of right now he's "good" we know for almost a fact he doesn't return after this weeks episode. There's been no "spoiler" of him dying yet. With the spinoff rumor being in rotation for weeks, Zach Roerig throwing a hint and this new "news" yesterday adding all these up says we JUST MIGHT get a Kai Parker spinoff.

I, for one would love this. Much rather watch Kai than Enzo or Matt.

Would YOU want to see it? Do you think it's possible?

Thoughts?

I'm ready to ship Kaimon...

I would be SO happy. I really enjoy him as an actor, but find Supergirl to be really tedious to watch.

I wonder about this, though. I kind of cant see Supergirl getting rid of him. A lot of people like his character and they ship him with Supergirl.

I loved Klaus on TVD, but not as much on the Originals. If Julie Plec isn't involved though, I would be good with this.

Given the painfully low viewing figures that TVD and The Originals has, and his last Julie Plec role would be risky to leave Supergirl (which has been renewed and that renewal more or less commits the CW to season 4 as well). For a spin off of a show that celebrated getting 0.4 last week

Kai is fun, and cute and entertaining but as a hero no-way, I'm not sure it would work, they haven't ordered a pilot or anything like that

The Originals isnt even aired in my country on TV, and the Vampire diaries is shown at midnight, while fans may demand it doesn't seem the best series to create a spin off from. but we dont know what goes on behind the scenes

While I am worried about him staying in Supergirl because of the hate he gets from SuperCorp shippers, it is the more stable role, and hes always wanted to be a superhero, doesn't have a suit yet.

Oh I'd adore a Kai/Gemini spin off. I mean the coven is thousands of years old, has ties to the mythology of the show and the Bennett witches. I was hoping before the end of season six that they would explore Kai being leader of the coven and the complications of that. The character is so loved and Chris plays him so well. From what I've seen Mon El is not well received.

Add in Bonnie too and it's lit. A witch focused show would be so cool.

I completely agree with you. The Bonnie/Kai/Gemini coven witch storyline should have actually been the focus of season 7, instead of killing Kai and the entire coven storyline off. If I remember correctly, Bonnie's grams and mother knew the Parker family? The Bennetts and the Gemini coven had history. That would have been an interesting story to have explored.

I noticed a lot of the interest in the show dropped off when Kai got axed, but there seems to be a resurgence now that I hear he is back(for however temporary that may be).

A spin-off featuring any of the existing characters seems laughable to me, seeing as the show is ending because the ratings are horrible. But a spin-off featuring Kai is the only thing that seems plausible.

Kai it appears was killed off cos he was in another show.
He went for pilot season in the episodes he was missing, shot the pilot between 17 and 20 when he got all sexy, it was the same reason the Dahlia Originals plot felt so horrible and rushed, a whole season building to this crazy powerful unbeatable witch, who is in 6 eps (I was sure she was being built up to be the season 3 baddie) and had a hug and that stopped her, again she was in containment

reply

I agree with this, too. There is a lot of "untold tales" with the Bennett family. Throw in Kai's obsession with her, the Gemini, a thousand year old coven, and their unstable new leader and his dysfunctional family, and they could have easily hit a gold mine.

Heck, they could even find a role in it for Crusty Alaric - making him a supporting legacy character - since he's married to Jo/father of the Gemini twin girls.

But that would only have made sense in season 6, if they hadn't killed off Jo, the entire coven and made Kai into an irredeemable monster. At this point in time, I don't know how they can revive those characters and the potential with them.

reply

Nah, a spinoff without some major character wouldn't work. I personally don't think that they'll make one.

Which would be worse - to live as a monster, or to die as a good man? 

reply

I actually get the feeling that Alaric is getting the spin off.

I would love a series thats like "Angel" but focuses on the armoury
