Is this still good?

Is this still a good film? As of this post, no-one seems to have rated this. With all the anti-press about this, it seems to have disappeared with negativity. I try and keep an open mind about these things. I really enjoyed the UK film but this Hindi interpretation seems to have gotten really negative reviews everywhere. Now that I am really getting into Hindi films, I wouldn't mind watching this. If this is a 'clone' (with few differences here and there) wouldn't it still be funny? If I am able to remove myself from remembering that the UK version is fabulous, would this be still good? Would someone who hadn't seen the original think this is funny?

I haven't seen the original, but the hindi one was boring.
Hindi comedy movies are becoming very, very stupid.

The last good hindi comedy I saw was All the Best.

I am looking forward to 3 idiots.

Oh dear . I was thinking of buying it but I will just contend with just renting it out I guess. Will get to watch "All the Best" soon.
Yes "3 Idiots"! Looking forward to that!

I have seen both the UK film and this one. I enjoyed both. I loved the original and since I love Indian films I had to see this version. I rented it and there were no subtitles, but I still watched the entire film. It's pretty much an exact copy with a couple small changes so it was easy to follow even though I didn't understand anything not said in English... I would suggest it if you enjoyed the original but you might want to make sure you get a copy with the subtitles.
Also Chris Rock has made a remake which looks good too. You can check out the trailer on IMDb

Thank you I now have a huge fondness for Hindi films (almost an addiction!). A friend of mine is going to lend me their DVD. I wanted to buy it but they suggested that I buy if after only if I enjoyed it (naturally). There are SO many so-called 'Flop' films that I enjoy.

Dont waste your time on this movie. Recent bollywood comedies have just starting overusing their humour tactics which includes plenty of homophobic slurs and gay jokes, spouses cheating on one another, drug use in the wrong place, and blackmail to name a few. You would rather be better off with Chal Chala Chal or Sanket City.
