Will cgi be used to blend the creatures into the landscape?

Anyone know? The old stop motion films like those of Harryhausen didn't have this technology then and it shows unfortunatey so i hope computer effects are at least going to be used to blend the stop motion creatures into whatever their landscape is.

I think so. It's obvious that they are using CGI effects for some of the settings.
The trouble with the trailer is some of the obvious green-screen inserts. That and the acting, and some of the cinematography. Some of the stopmo is quite cool, like the Dragon, Statue, Crab, and Skeletons, but the Cyclops and other monsters have this plasticine look.

My friend has been working on these effects for at least 5 years (he was under an NDA so i never knew until recently that this was the film he was doing) He told me they were using cgi to compliment the stopmotion, not only in blending into the scene, but in smoothing out the animation too. He said they wanted a more tangible looking effect rather than middle of the road cgi that often looks flat and 2d. Not sure how the film will be, but looking forward to seeing the stop motion stuff, brings back memories of saturday afternoons watching clash of the titans or something

Good to hear that as that's one thing that spoils the old Harryhausen films.
