extremely predictable [spoilers]

How many times has this plot been used? A bride who is being made to think she is crazy by an unscrupulous husband with his own agenda. How about "Gaslight" with Ingrid Bergman ? I knew the outcome from the minute the too-blonde sister walked in with a too-low-cut blouse.

Was thinking the same thing also!!!!

reply

Me too! I just knew the sister was in on it from the very beginning, and that Megan was not really dead!! Very predictable.

reply

Glad I came here to see reactions. I recorded this to watch today, but didn't know if it would be worth it. Looking like it's not.

LOVED Gaslight, btw.

Shawn:Boomboomboomboom..MUFFINS
Dexter S4:Hope it's worth it. Up there w/Jim=Sam=Jim again

reply

Oh, TOTALLY agreed. The only surprise here was how long Megan went with the "I'll just hold my breath until people believe me, or I pass out - whichever comes first" approach.

Just execrable.

As soon as the mother said that Samantha was adopted, I knew she had something to do with the mystery. They wouldn't have made her an adopted sister and mentioned that detail if it didn't have any relevance to the plot. It's a decent movie but I saw the big reveal coming from a mile away.

reply

Yeah it is predictable, but like stage-goers in the pre-radio/TV days, you went to see a show just to see how the actors would handle the role.

In this respect, they did very well.

reply

I didn't think about it at the time, but 'Gaslight' is probably seminal for this type of film.
