Worth watching - decent story in the werewolf genre
Looks like werewolves will be the new "in" thing and I suspect we will start seeing tee vee series on the same subject as vampires were. "Wolves" will be released on November 14th and it is a decent story about the genre. If not for the foul language this could have been a PG-13 film that would have attracted many teenagers I would think. A teen boy realizes that he is changing and is different from his friends. He comes to find out when he gets worked up that he turns into this wolf monster. So, in the same line as The Incredible Hulk TV series, the boy travels town to town not looking for trouble but it eventually catches up to him anyway. Lucas Till plays the lead and he does an okay job. Jason Momoa does a better job as the toughest "pure blood" wolf around that no one messes with. And Merritt Patterson is one of the prettiest wolf you will see. For my money it was Stephen McHattie who was the best here, he is usually a character actor but he stood out here and proved he does have good acting talent. There are the usual battles between the werewolves and a little bit of romance to keep things a little bit interesting. This was a good view and I do recommend it. If it comes to a theater near you I am not sure it is worth $10 or so, but you could spend your pesos worse than seeing this. It comes in a little over 80 minutes however, so it isn't very long, so keep that in mind. ** 1/2 out of 4 stars.
