Worth watching - decent story in the werewolf genre

Looks like werewolves will be the new "in" thing and I suspect we will start seeing tee vee series on the same subject as vampires were. "Wolves" will be released on November 14th and it is a decent story about the genre. If not for the foul language this could have been a PG-13 film that would have attracted many teenagers I would think. A teen boy realizes that he is changing and is different from his friends. He comes to find out when he gets worked up that he turns into this wolf monster. So, in the same line as The Incredible Hulk TV series, the boy travels town to town not looking for trouble but it eventually catches up to him anyway. Lucas Till plays the lead and he does an okay job. Jason Momoa does a better job as the toughest "pure blood" wolf around that no one messes with. And Merritt Patterson is one of the prettiest wolf you will see. For my money it was Stephen McHattie who was the best here, he is usually a character actor but he stood out here and proved he does have good acting talent. There are the usual battles between the werewolves and a little bit of romance to keep things a little bit interesting. This was a good view and I do recommend it. If it comes to a theater near you I am not sure it is worth $10 or so, but you could spend your pesos worse than seeing this. It comes in a little over 80 minutes however, so it isn't very long, so keep that in mind. ** 1/2 out of 4 stars.

Agreed. It's an entertaining way to spend 80-90 minutes. Hopefully it will come out on bluray so that I can watch it on the big screen.

I've just watched this movie now and I thought that it was a really good movie,I'm a big werewolf fan and thought the movie was different compared to the likes of the wolf man, skin walker's or ginger snaps

I thought it was pretty good, too. Better than most of the recent stuff. The ending seemed like they wanted it to be a tv pilot. I kind of wish they would do a tv series. We can always use another one.

Seriously? I thought it was one of the biggest POS movies. The wolves looked like cats, the story line was complete garbage and the acting was sketchy at best.

It is okay. I would not go as far as super or super acting but the effects were nicely placed.

Sidenote:
Some day in the future i may write a script in the werwolf genre with the title "the slaughtering bastards". It is ALWAYS the same: only purebread = good & strong...

Yes... a decent story for the genre, not overly fanciful... and the cast did quite well. But I don't think it would work at attracting audiences even with PG-13, nowadays people are more interested in CGI than retro full body suit, but it is not all that different from Beast in most X-Men films, especially Days of Future Past. I do find it funny that he still have his stylish hair in werewolf form.
