What if a 50 year old man complained...

that he couldn't get attention because he's old and has a beerbelly, so it's the cruel and inconsiderate society that drove him to the whorehouse?
He would get laughed in his face.
Yet with women, we actually buy it? Always the victim aren't they, even when they're actually the predator. Amazing.

Its not like that at all. Theresa is not shown as sympathetic main character and the movie rather attacks instead of defends prostitution.

How are the main characters in this film portrayed any differently? These young men are repulsed by these beach whales and only tolerate them to get money for feeding their own parents, siblings and themselves in dire poverty. Many refuse to do anything with them unless paid for it, or as in the end, just feel flat out repulsed by her advances.

It isn't easy for a fat 50 year old man *or* woman to find people genuinely attracted to them physically. Especially if they have steep criteria, like the man having to be a tall, muscular 25 year old, or the woman having to be in her early twenties and slim.

This is where prostitution steps in, and it has been legalized in countries like Germany. It serves the needs of these people. But for older fat women it has been less accepted socially, and hence there is less supply so they go abroad.

Men go abroad and view prostitution as an additional perk to the holiday, women have to seek out certain impoverished countries where young men are economically forced into this kind of activity unless they want to be financially miserable.

Is this really what you got out of the film, that the filmmakers are trying to say her actions were okay because she was a woman?

Because when I watched this, I thought she is actually one of the most repulsive characters I've ever seen depicted (so realistically). If anything this film should make you realize is that gender does not necessarily influence peoples morals. It is not okay if a woman exploits disadvantaged men, in the exact same way had the genders been reversed. The point of the film, is that this does happen, and it is not okay.
