I'm sorry, I understand he was in a messed up household and was dealing with the death of his mother, but breaking into that kid's house and threatening to cut off his toes? That's insanity. There's no more sympathy for a character like that. He's not just "acting out". I wish that kid had kicked his ass for doing that, instead Hesher just shows up and hurts that kid more! I know he was a bully, and bullies are bad, and sensitive little kids don't deserve to be picked on, etc, but the bully is a kid too. No one ever remembers that.

That "kid" wasn't that young. He drove, had a job and by the looks of it (I could be wrong) had his own house. He also spit a lung oyster in TJ's face/mouth, shoved his face in a urinal and made him eat the urinal cake and generally terrorized him on a daily basis. TJ DIDN'T cut his toe and in fact let him go only to be attacked again after the kid told him where the car was. That little punk actually had the nerve to be incensed about TJ coming into his house after all the disgusting things he did to TJ?!?!? TJ also had nothing to do with Hesher's actions. I wish TJ had put a serious hurt on the little shiznit. Maybe he would think twice before bullying someone else.

1. He absolutely has a right to be incensed that little *beep* broke into his house and THREATENED HIM WITH ACTUAL BODILY HARM. Spitting in your face, eating a urinal cake, yes, all terrible things that only *beep* do. But cutting off someone's big toe is essentially a lifetime deformity. That's *beep* up. (He also threatened to beat in Hesher's face with some rebar, so he's not that innocent)

2. Making a point that TJ "DIDN'T" cut off his toe and "in fact let him go" is not good enough. That's like dangling someone over a cliff, pulling them back and saying "Saved your life, you were gonna fall into the canyon!"

I didn't say he was innocent but the bully definitely deserved some retribution and had no right to be incensed. I don't know what's in urinal cake but I'm sure it could be harmful or possibly fatal if ingested. I'm sure the bully didn't know or care for that matter either so IMHO TJ didn't raise the bar at all. Not to mention, the bully manhandled him several times which also could have led to serious injury or death.

Also the only way your cliff analogy works is if he only THREATENED to dangle him off the cliff. It would have taken a LOT of effort and strength for TJ to actually cut his toe off where-as if you're dangling someone off a cliff, an accident could potentially happen quite easily.

He forced him to eat the cake from the urinal, did YOU remember that? You still have sympathy for that guy though... Interesting
