Cursing in a kids movie!!
"Krill-sucker"
"Fluff off"
I mean really!!!
Trust me, your kids hear worse every day. And probably say worse when you're not around. ;) Would you rather the less clever but equally euphemistic old-school substitutes like "shoot" and "dang" were used? Even "Gee" is really shorthand for an exclamation some would find blasphemous. These movies aren't for very young kids (under 6)... they'd find them scary, though they wouldn't "get" the fake curse words. A lot of Antarctic critters really are "krill suckers" too. I seriously doubt younger kids will think this is a sexual vulgarity. (Unless they learned more R-rated expression elsewhere before seeing the movie.)
shareIt's PG, not G.
................
"Fine. You want to eat? Let's see if you can eat... PIZZA!!!"
Kids would only get it if they know the real words.
shareThat "Krill-Sucker" is also in the first one (When they go to the elephant seals, when Ramon is saying something like "I believe they are herbivores, or kelp-suckers", before they jump off the edge) and is just referencing to the leopard seal as a herbivore to get it mad. I don't see it as a substitute swear word.
shareFĂșck the fĂșck off.
First of all, I grew up in the early 90's, and in Elementary school, I heard kids throwing around swear-words occasionally.
Secondly, this film is NOTHING compared to stuff you could get away with in kids and family movies in the 80's and early 90's. Stop being sensitive, I saw a lot of 80's kids movies on tape growing up that threw around s-words, both b-words, and all sorts of sexual slangs.
And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
I think the OP would have a heart attack if they saw 'The Goonies', 'Home Alone', 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' or 'E.T' which are some of the best kids movies ever made.
