Whoa whoa whoa. Ok, so the ONLY way this was possible (SPOILERS!!!)

Is if Claire was complicit, and got Sophie to sign up on the site.

All she did was suggest it. Sophie might not have been interested. She might have even turned down the lunch date. She might never have applied to work at Claire's office. She might have used a different web site. She might have decided not to go, or to go some other time.

This is an incredibly flimsy plan, relying upon this person to act EXACTLY as you want her to, or you're completely screwed and your months of preparation are out the window.

It also hinges on her having no relatives or friends who could confirm her identity.

Finally we're to believe that because the killer used to associate with hackers and such, she can make airplane travel records vanish, create convincing phony IDs, etc.


Of course, there's also the Palestinian who pretends to be Iranian, who somehow arranges for her to spot him and come on to him (which could easily not have happened), just so she can later have him to call - which makes no sense because the plan is not for her to escape or contact anyone... Well yeah that part just doesn't make any sense at all.
