Had potential but sooooo many WTFs in it

I wanted to like the film - 1/2 way thru when the grandparents take the kid to visit the messed up relatives - that's where it lost it for me. NOTHING is explained - assuming some sort of either incest or in-breeding to explain the girl in the basement's deformity (and the kid's dad being sent to the relatives to live w/) Nothing is dealt w/. The cornfield is a red-herring - yeah hippies are there 'terrorizing' the farm at night. YAWN -
The kid was fine and it was a hoot to see a foul-mouthed racist Chloris Leachman.
Otherwise pretty 'meh'
