Since I doubt they'll post my review, I'll do it here...

A Movie, with a Begining, a Middle and Finally, an End.

A movie like no other....Something mundane happens to somebody platitudinous. It goes on for a bit, then it stops. You'll yawn. You'll blink. You'll wonder what Redbox did with your $1.28. The complete and total absence of action is over shadowed only by the loosely grouped events that struggle to make up a plot. The best thing that can be said for this movie is that the Director and Producers of "The English Patient" rejoiced and threw a party when it was learned their movie was no longer the single most boring piece of cinematic doldrums ever conceived. Perhaps the best review of this movie came from Leo Tolstoy, who upon viewing it said, "My God, does this EVER end?"

If You watch the story behind the story featurette on the extras on DVD, You'll find that the real life events that inspired this Movie are even less interesting than the Movie itself.

Dude, it is so rare that I read something that makes me genuinely laugh out loud...holy bleeping bleep was that bleep funny...

reply

You do seem the type to be easily amused and Distracted by shiny objects to i bet. But yeah the movie looks horrible.

reply

Lol, great reference to the English Patient. I kept waiting for something to happen here. At one point I was convinced everyone in the movie was really dead and a big reveal was coming like in "The Others," but no such luck. I'm still not sure what I just watched. Other than Leachman cracking me up with her portrayal of a time period grandmother I didnt find one redeeming aspect to the movie, and I'm terrified if I watch it again I would turn to stone or something equally as dreadful.

So, what, giving it a horrible review wasn't enough, you had to go post your garbage on the board too? You just weren't spreading enough hate with the review by itself?

Seriously, grow up.

reply

Why is it garbage? Is it because s/he didn't like the movie? And really, since when is it the case that a person is only allowed to express approval or approbation? His/Her comment was witty, if not particularly informative (and I say that as someone who very much liked The English Patient). There's nothing immature about about dislike of a movie or expression of that dislike.

Any review that claims the English Patient is boring and so is this movie is automatically going to get me to watch the film assuming it will be wonderful.

Movies are IQ tests; the IMDB boards are how people broadcast their score.
