In the movie he for sure was cast as his age (mid 50's at the time)... Diane Kruger (Gina) is clearly in her late 20's to early 30's. Way to young for this pairing to be realistic. She's young enough to be his daughter.

After 30, women begin to hit their glass ceiling when it comes to getting attention and special treatment. But they are also (hopefully) more mature and stable in their life. They know what they want, they arent as fickle, and they are more accepting of a mans flaws as well.
Its a good age for seeing life through wiser eyes. So I agree, the age differences arent such a big deal because after 30 you are a fully mature adult both physically and mentally.
