No Beat Takeshi?

Takeshi's was a "reboot." Since he wrote and directed the last as a sort of homage film and was a one off, I doubt they'd try to shoehorn him into a franchise, especially since he had such a hard time getting the original made.

to be fair, Beat Takeshi's version was a reboot and was completely out of continuity with any of the others... the final revelation of that film is what cemented it in it's own world...
