Ozarks Compared to Europe?

Countrirs like Norway is considered the Guatemala of Europe, how does Europe compare to Ozarks?
I constantly hear, it's better to be poor in America than middle classic in Europe-it's considered that bad.

How would you like to have a King or Queen as ruler, like much of Europe?
They can do anything.
Tax Collectors come to your door and take what they want till it seems like 10% of your wealth.
The Kings messengers can come at any time and take your 13 year old daughter as a virgin for the King use.
US democracy has made life so much better than in Europe.

Norway has a constitutional monarchy. Their King is not a ruler, like they were back in medieval times. They have a parliamentary government which is similar to many western democracies. I think maybe you’ve seen Braveheart a few too many times? 😄

Each to their own, I'm sure middle class Norwegians wouldn't swap, or even poor Norwegians.
One big difference is land and house prices. I watched Grand Torino where Eastwood was supposed to be living in a slum and that house would have fetched $800K in most London suburbs. Europe is definitely land poor and the idea of Ree owning half a forest and being so poor is bizarre.

What the heck are you talking about, OP? Norway is one of the wealthiest countries on the planet. I’ve been to Oslo and it was beyond expensive there. I’ve been through the countryside too, and it all looks pristine, like Disneyland. Nothing looked poor. I’m sure there are areas of poverty but they have well-funded social benefits and higher education. Their government health care pays for spa vacations and health clubs for cryin’ out loud.
