Hiddleston as the next Bond

If it's true that Daniel Craig is leaving the Bond franchise, I'm truly sad. I think Craig put a real human feel to Bond; we saw emotion, he got dirty and bled. I hope this same feel continues, and I think Tom Hiddleston could to it. His performance in The Night Manager gave us another side to Hiddleston acting; the "love\hate" for the character of Loki, but Tom had me at Pine's character. Nicely done! He was convincing, he drew you in; just as Craig did as Bond. I truly believe Tom could be the next Bond and regardless who will be directing it, if they keep that same humanly feel I think Tom Hiddleston will hit it out of the park!

I really don't think he's a good actor. He's a clothes horse, yes, he's one for the ladies, I know, and is a pleasant chap from interviews I've heard, but I think he's very insubstantial and was miscast in TNM.

I enjoyed him and thought he did a good job. Who would you like to have seen play the part of Pine?

I agree. I want to like Hiddleston, but I don't. Frankly, he always seems smug. I don't think he's handsome, but I understand that many people do. Also, he seems gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you can't have a gay-seeming Bond.Even Roger Moore was a bit too gay seeming to make his love scenes feel right. Daniel Craig may not be everybody's cup of tea, but he seems very straight.

Imagine Tom Hiddleston if he were 5' 9".

This is the type of role that Ethan Hawke or Tom Cruise would have gotten ten or twenty years ago.

What about James McAvoy?

reply

I'm not really in support of it, but it would be pretty wild if they wanted to reboot Bond by making him gay, or Bi at the least - LOL!

reply

yes, he's one for the ladies,

He looks ugly as sin from where I'm sitting.

reply

I think he would be perfect. He's incredibly sophisticated and does well in action scenes and love scenes as well.

reply

Far too much of a puff. Would make a laughable Bond. They are probably going to have to go to Australia to find the next Bond. England just doesn't produce men with sufficient testosterone for the role anymore.

reply

Be nice if they found a cool Sean Connery type with a twinkle in his eye to play Bond and for good measure produced a fun, escapist 007 flick like GOLDFINGER and not a broody, angsty, faux-solemn bore-fest like... well, like all the recent 007s have been.

reply

While I agree that it would be refreshing to dump the darkness of recent Bond films, most are far too jaded and miserable these days to buy that sort of film. Sad.

reply

I'd be sad if Daniel Craig was done playing Bond. He had the right amount of charisma and physicality for the action scenes.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

After watching this, I totally agree...Hiddleston for Bond!

Craig's been very vocal about being done with Bond.

Well, he did order Vodka Martini in the last episode. Any hint there?

The bond people have already disqualified him because of Taylor Swift.

If it is true that Craig is leaving, I'm sorry too. He is not the usual snarky, witty, pretty boy type that usually plays Bond. IMO he added a new dimension to a rather hackneyed character.
