The best in the franchise imo

Not saying this film is great by all means but this is easily the best in the franchise besides Bumblebee. The first, second, fourth and fifth film are just utter garbage. At least this was actually quite watchable imo.

It is but they should have given Shockwave a much better and prominent role. He look ed badass but was portrayed as nothing more than a regular grunt and was taken down way too easily.

Completely agree. What a waste of a character.

I enjoy this movie too, but I can’t fathom how someone can give DOTM a pass and yet dismiss the other movies (especially the first) as trash.

As far as I’m concerned, the first movie is THE BEST in the series! It was one of the top grossing, most popular, and most talked about major releases of 2007.
Sure, opinions from critics and long-time Transformers fans were somewhat divided, but it was well received by the majority of TF fandom, earned the franchise some new fans (in turn, spawning new TV shows and selling more toys), was just all-round enjoyed by many moviegoers in general, and still is to this day.

As for Bumblebee. While that entry was decent enough it hardly comes close to the appeal and legacy that the first film had, despite what the critics and militant Bay haters will argue.
In fact, once you take away the different “feel” compared to the other Transformers movies, you’re basically just left with Transformers PC edition/Iron Giant knock-off. It has little rewatch value, has made the least amount of money in the series, and has since been almost forgotten about since it’s release. Go figure!
