Underrated?

It's the second best in the series, but that isn't saying much (the first is the only "good" film in the series). 6/10

It's very underrated. People are harsh on this one because they never wanted it to exist in the first place. After how bad Transformers 2 was everyone became cynical downers and developed a zero tolerance policy on everything.

This movie has its problems but I believe in giving credit where credit is do. Everyone hated the over-the-top crude humor in the second movie: Robot Balls, Bud brownies, farting robots, humping dogs, sexual references, agent Simmons' ass taking up the whole frame, Wheelie humping Fox's leg. So what did Michael Bay do? He toned the humor down significantly, the deep Wang scene is the only over-the-top scene in the movie and it's relatively tame compared to all the crap we had to put up with in Transformers 2.

Then people said they wanted the movie to be darker. and what did Michael Bay do? he filled the movie with assassinations, murder, betrayal, executions, mass murder, exile, woman and children crying in the streets of Chicago, skulls and bones rolling on the ground. The fact that he went this far to make up for Transformers 2 deserves some recognition. You may not like the movie but it can't be denied that Michael Bay at least tried to give the people what they wanted.

The plot to this movie is actually interesting and slowly unravels itself unlike Transformers 2 which just lays out it's entire plot in a one big exposition scene with Jetfire. The plot actually made sense 90% of the time, which is about as much as most blockbusters. the action is amazing, the effects are stunning and despite the reputation, There is no over-the-top shaky cam in this movie, I can see everything as clear as day.

Same thing goes for Transformers 4, That movie is the antithesis of Transformers 2 and yet everyone calls it the worst one yet. It's at this point I just believe Michael Bay dug his own grave with Transformers 2 and nobody wants to see him climb out. Whatever, I enjoyed Transformers 3 and 4 and I look forward to Transformers 5.

I haven't seen the new Bumblebee movie, so not including it, Dark of the Moon is the 2nd best movie in the franchise. The only "good" movie in the franchise is the original. The rest are loud, noisy, lack any real characters, plot, and have great explosions.

I might have liked this one better than the first, it's definitely better than 2 and 4.

This happens to be my favorite in the series, though there are a couple parts that make me cringe. Normally I don't care for straight action movies, much prefer some good story and drama. However in the case of "transformers" I could care less about the story/plot. I just want to see giant robots transforming and battling it out for as much of the film as possible, which is why this is my favorite one.

The very fact this movie isn't in the "worst of all time" ranks makes me feel it's OVERrated. It was painfully stupid, in many ways.

This and the first one are the two best ones in the series (DOTM is my favorite, though).
