Minor plot hole in 2/10 episode (SPOILERS)

So at the end the team realizes that the "homeless guy" was the son of a wealthy man who disappeared a number of years ago, but has been "living on his father's money and properties" for years.

How does that work, exactly? How does someone with ready access to money live 'off the grid'? He has to have access to a bank, or bankers, in order to buy stuff. He obviously worked through a real-estate agent to buy that Leave it to Beaver house. People obvioiusly dealt with him and were (presumably) able to reach him when necessary. Even if they hadn't physically caught him at the end, they'd have been able to find him easily enough by back-tracing him.

So if the definition of "off the grid" means untraceable through normal channels, this guy was NOT off the grid.

The episode was good, but it was kind of a weak ending, imho. Just like last night's Grimm, a solid episode seemed like it was wrapped up haphazardly, like the writers realized at the last minute that they had to come up with a culprit so they made something fit that was kind of awkward. Like Cinderella's step-sister trying to make a size 6 shoe fit on her size 9 foot.
