beyond the subject matter itself, the film superbly charts the evolution/genealogy of an art ideology from its birthers to its pioneers to its leeches to its adapters to its profiteers to its diehards.

great, great american art doc. also includes some incredible footage of the filthiest times of nyc as well.

seek it out.

The New York footage was an important part of this documentary, just as New York was an important part of the movement. I've never been to New York but I can imagine that these run down neighborhood don't exist anymore.
