Batman is not afraid of meta-humans.

Watch this movie and notice;

When Batman is fighting super-powered meta-humans he demonstrates a cool disdain as he casually takes them down one by one.

But when Katana and other Martial Artists challenge him he becomes MUCH more wary and on his guard.

Simple reason; Batman always learns of his enemies AND allies weaknesses in order to stop them should any go rogue. Then when he is able to neutralize the meta-power they tend to be easily taken down as their fighting skills tend to be inferior because they take their meta-powers for granted too much.

But Martial Artists cannot be neutralised in such a manner. He can only study their moves and learn their patterns, something a GOOD Martial Artist attempts to change periodically, rendering them less predictable than Meta-Humans.

So that's why Batman demonstrates open contempt for his empowered adversaries in this movie while equally showing healthy respect and caution with fellow Martial Artists.

Nice catch and very well said :)

That's one of the things I love about the character of Batman is how he is able to subdue the meta-humans as easily as non-metas because he uses is brain as well as brawn.

"I don't know whether to bite you or kiss you."

The way Batman was portrayed in this movie was ridiculous. They might as well have just given him powers. Crisis On 2 Earths was much better in that regard.

"Why do you say this to me when you know I will kill you for it?"

reply

The way Batman was portrayed was actually realistic to his character.

He is someone who has brain, gadgets and brawn. Sure he isn't superhuman but his skills are greater than some superhuman shooting laser beams. In the end, Batman has bigger arsenal to use against his opponents.

Making him pointlessly weak while he has faced far more dangerous villains than some laser shooting nobodies, would've killed the movie.

hi,

you wrote down my thoughts when watching this movie! I think it became very obvious, when Batman avoided the charging Katana nd backed out of the fight.

Also, I always think Batman and Superman are such a superb tag-team: 1.Batman is the perfect analyst that always thinks one step ahead and calculates his surroundings - Superman doesn't do that as much. 2.Superman really takes his powers for granted and once the kryptonite or some weakening magic hits (too much), he doesn't really have any martial skills. Batman always has his martial skills no matter what.

Wrong! Superman has heart. And even when he is around his weakness of kryptonite, he is still sometimes able to hold on and fight longer than he should have. I wouldn't give batman all the credit. While batman was taking down some powerful metahumans, Superman had to deal with the real powerful metahumans like atom (the ones batman would never stand a chance against.) Don't get wrong, Batman is possibly one of my favorite characters of Justice League, but you guys always give him too much credit all because he trained for his ablities. It's not superman's fault he was born with special abilities.

Batman has always had predjudice towards metahumans. One he veiws them all as dangerous and undsiciplined liabilities that barely understand their own abilities. Two, he hates the fact that he had to spend a good portion of his life training to condition his body to the absolute peak of human potential and yet most metahumans are more powerful than he could ever hope to be just by virtue of random circumstance. In his view, they just tripped and fell backwards into some amazing powers and now they're running around weilding them like a kid who found his father's gun.

When Batman doesn't get is that most metahumans never asked to be special in the first place. Some were born with their powers, some recieved them as a result of cruel experiments that were perfomed on them, and even more got them as a result of some random accident.

I like Batman but his prejudice towards metahumans is one of his biggest character flaws. In fact his mteahuman paranioa led to the creation of Brother Eye which led to the deaths of many innocent people, normal and meta alike.

You just killed my girlfriend.....thats actually....kinda pissing me off....huh....

LOL, this guy just made up a imaginary flaw for a character that has never claimed to be prejudiced. If he WAS, he wouldn't be working with meta-humans at all.
