What would happen if someone followed them on a military satellite?

What do you think would happen if they had another friend with access to a military satellite (able to spectate them in realtime), watching them from somewhere outside the town? Would he see them suddenly vanish as soon as they get to the trail? Would he just see them acting crazy as if they were hallucinating everything? Assuming that space is all twisted around inside the trail "realm" I wonder what it would look like if someone were to observe it from outside without going in.
