Not great...but not bad either
I finally caught this on HBO. It was meh imo though I had been hearing about it a lot from friends. I was not and still am not a big fan of rap. I can listen for short amounts of time in all fairness. Tbh I did not go into the film with high hopes. It wasn't a trainwreck but it seemed that the director was taking a lot of liberties with actual events and making the situations more dramatic for the camera. I'm not sure why they didn't get Easy-E's real life son to portray him. (It also seemed to me the director was downplaying the fact that many rappers were associated with Bloods or Crips and sold narcotics).
