How much does gangsta rap manipulate the youth?

I've just found this meme, and I was laughing first.

Then I saw Straight Outta Compton and made me think. I am European, and I have never been to the USA. Do you think that there is any truth in this satirical picture? How much can the music industry and entertainment business really manipulate American youth?

reply

A movie or any other form of entertainment cannot manipulate all youth, only the weaker minded ones. The ones who lack guidance and proper dicipline so in my mind its the actually parents that are guilty of inadvertently allowing their youth's minds to be manipulated by things from the outside world because they aren't doing a thorough enough job raising strong minded youth. They are lacking. That's not the fault of
entertainment.....and satirical? You could've been a little more respectable and left that part out of your comment out. I'm just saying....

Oh yeah, you can keep the affirmative token.

I agree. Some people tend to blame rap for people's violent behavior, they sound like parents that like to blame video games whenever a kid does something violent or the people that blamed the "fire" episode of Beavis & Butthead because a kid tried to copy what he saw which resulted in the death of his sister.

I mean did the Columbine shooters listen to rap? No. Did the Virginia Tech shooter listen to rap? No. Did the Aurora Theater shooter listen to rap? No. Did the Sandy Hook shooter listen to rap? No.

Its amazing how people hang around message boards of movies they dont like

..about as much as violent video games manipulate our youth. Perhaps less so.

I wouldn't call the picture satirical, I would just call it completely racist.
