This is a wonderful movie.

I loved what was done with the character who plays the father. That the writer chose to address sexual orientation as part of the story but not all of the story added another layer to this complicated man. The scenes that showed him with another man were perfect, including explicit sex with clothes on. These men are falling in love and it is so well done to show them in what would be considered tame if this was an illustration of heterosexual sex in a car.
There are no cardboard cut out characters here. The story line is embedded in the characters created and each one is understandable whether you like them or not.
I so liked the happy ending. It wasn't a fanciful turn around that denies what precedes it. It's just a perfect fit.
