I wonder why a calculator watch for Eddie?

I remember those 1980s calculator watches with all the buttons on the front, but I'm wondering why Eddie would have one. I can only imagine that it was the only watch with a multi-alarm function, for all his reminders to take his medication. Or he just loves looking like a nerd.

I was a kid in the 80s and wore one because I thought it was cool. I was a total nerd and wanted to look cool. Eddie was nerd/loser too. I agree about the multiple alarms were for his meds.
