Ben acted like the slash from Pennywise with the spear was a nothing

So Henry Bowers carves an H into his belly and he acts as if he's dying, they do a whole big thing of them rushing to the pharmacy to get him bandages and medicine.

But then when they're in the creepy house and after Beverly sticks the spear into Pennywise's face, Pennywise slashes Ben pretty badly in the stomach and yet he acts fine. They're all standing outside the house and Ben is just standing there not even holding the gash on his stomach, its as if the actor forgot he was supposed to be feeling pain and that he just got slashed in the stomach.

Richie even points it out when he says "And Ben is bleeding hamburger helper over here" and Ben continues to just stand there with that big slash across his stomach as if its nothing.

You'd also think that Sonia Kaspbrak, when taking Eddie to the hospital, would see Ben's wound and say something, but it's clear that since It inflicted Ben's wound, no-one but the Losers can see it. I think Pennywise's intention was more to "mark" Ben, in obvious mockery of the wound Henry inflicted on his belly (see, Henry, I can do better than you!) and not so much to cause him physical pain. But perhaps every time Ben looks into the mirror and sees that wound (which is probably not even real) he will be reminded of Pennywise and what else he could do, and so will his fellow Losers.

Yeah thats a good explanation i guess, i mean also if the actor or filmmakers messed up it is a good explanation to cover for it.

But its hard to say if the wounds Pennywise inflicted aren't able to be seen by the adults since he didn't really injury any of them by his own hands except Ben and Stan, and there wasn't really a moment with Stan to see if anyone noticed the teeth marks around his face. Eddie's broken arm wasn't from Pennywise really but from the fall, so yeah its hard to determine if that theory is true since theres not any incidents other than moment with Ben to go from.

Wow. I’ve seen the movie twice and never thought of it like that. Good interpretation.

On a side note: After Ben's belly is slashed and the scene goes back to Richie, Bill and Eddie, look at the expression on Eddie's face - I've never seen a better expression of horror to what's happened to a close friend in my life. Jack Dylan Grazer is truly talented.

Yeah that kid really stood out to me out of all the kids as the one whos really talented, he was always spot on with his delivery and facial expressions. The look on his face as Pennywise was coming out of that refrigerator was also really great, he could really nail those scared faces.

In the same scene, I'm also guessing that the reason Pennywise suddenly whacks Eddie's footwear was to elicit fear once more from him, as he liked the taste of it only moments before. I know that if I were in Eddie's place, I would be scared if a creepy clown with a twisted face was hitting me and screaming, after what it had already done, like a final "BOO!". I would also say that Pennywise, as soon as he was injured, knew he had lost this fight and was just driving home to the Losers that he was still a dangerous threat, spear through his head or not.
