I Think I Can Put An End To One Of The Few Most Asked Questions (Possible Spoilers).

Just finished watching the movie on my home theater system. From what I could hear it sounds like Beverly DID NOT kill her father. When he's lying there on the floor and Beverly is looking down at him, you can hear him breathing heavily and groaning. You can also still hear him doing both things when Bill shows up later on to investigate why Beverly is taking so long to meet up with him. It's possible he might've died off screen after that, but it sounds like he is still alive when onscreen. Unless it's a goof and the actor's breathing and stuff got picked up. If he is still alive, I'm guessing that when medical help arrived and Beverly explained what happened (after she came back from the sewers and off screen), Beverly gets taken away from her father and she gets to go live with her aunt (I think she said her aunt), which leads into the final scene of her saying goodbye to Bill and the others. Not sure what will happen to Beverly's father if he survives. He might go off to prison or get a few years and then is released but dies of old age in between movies.

But yeah. I had my home theater system cranked really loud and could hear Beverly's dad still breathing and groaning after getting knocked out by Beverly. Hopefully someone else can hear what I heard and confirm stuff. And maybe this might end the debate if he's dead or still alive.
